The following learning outcomes are foundational to all Montana Student Gumption Tour school presentations.
- Students will learn The Feather story and how opportunities come into one’s life … like magic.
- Students will learn the Chocolate Box story and about making good choices.
- Students will be introduced to the 3 principles of Gumption.
- Students will be able to state what it means to Function with Gumption.
- Students will be introduced to the concept of creating and learning to live their own gump-like life.
Middle school students will additional receive the following learning outcomes.
- Students will learn and be able to describe in detail the three principles of Gumption.
- Students will be introduced to the concept of life chapters and the journey of life.
- Student will learn what it means to take 100% personal responsibility.
- Students will learn how one’s mindset is the foundation for thinking, getting things done, and interacting with others.
- Students will learn how taking 100% personal responsibility for their actions is the key to getting things done with energy, how it eliminates the habit of making excuses, and why it leads directly towards future successes.
- Students will learn how taking 100% personal responsibility for their interactions with others eliminates blame, the need to think in terms of rightness/wrongness, and the spirit of greater cooperation among their fellow students.
High school students will additional receive the following learning outcomes.
- Students will be able to define the major life chapters of their current and future lives.
- Students will review and analyze multiple scenes from the movie Forrest Gump and discuss the five key scenes relevant to answering Forrest’s question, “Mama, what’s my destiny?”
- Students will understand how their current high school life chapter is a crucial stepping stone towards all future life chapters.
Rural school students will additional receive the following learning outcomes.
- Students will understand the specialness of growing up in a small community.
- Students will learn that opportunity awaits all those willing to venture out into the world.
